I was able to rent a tent and ground sheet for a reasonable price (NZ$120 for 7 days for one two-adult tent and ground sheet). The tent was a pop-up type, so it was easy to set up and was in good condition.
The items were picked up about a 20-30 minute drive from Christchurch towards Lake Tekapo. I was also glad that they were able to discuss plans other than those listed on the website via email.
